Dear Members and Friends,

    It's finally time to tell you: Go Veggie!® is producing its first televised cooking show, Go Veggie! with Kay. We have already completed seven out of nine shows in the series. This was made possible using the money raised from our 2004 TurkeyLess Thanksgiving silent auction. So, the items you bought and enjoyed helped make it all possible. We hired a production company, worked on recipes, wrote dialogue, and practiced! Whole Foods Market has been letting us use their kitchen for the filming.

    Beginning October 15 our production will be on Channel 25, Comcast on Sundays at 3 p.m. It can be seen by all cable viewers in Chicago and possibly in some nearby suburbs. I hope to see many of you at our launch party at the Heartland Café. We'll gather at the bar, have some tasty hors d'oeuvres and whole-grained sweets, and watch the first show together. We'll have a lot of fun and, after seeing the show, perhaps you'll decide to participate in our efforst to spread our message of health anc compassion to our entire city!

    We have endless more ideas and hope that you're planning to participate in this year's silent auction so that we can continue to produce more shows. We plan to set up a laptop computer at the TurkeyLess Thanksgiving Banquet so that those of you who don't live in Chicago can see the shows.

    I think you'll be amazed as I am at how professional, interesting, and informative our show has become so far. Diana Wendt, Joyce Paugh, and David Sklar, all from Go Veggie!®, have been helping with the project. And all the support that we receive from you throughout the year, and especially at TurkeyLess Thanksgiving, is helping to create an organization that can now reach out to help all of Chicago to become a healthier, happier, more environmentally sustainable and animal-friendly city!
